The Return

So it’s been four months since my last blog entry. A lot has changed since…well nothing too drastic!

Let me recap…for my own purposeful-sake…I realized how the last 4 entries may have sounded so depressing or more of a post-break up moment. So here it goes…

1. Broke up…hated the A**hole…(P.s. Never date a man who can’t make up his bloody mind or keep his promise!)

2. Stress with work…haven’t time for blogging

3. Gained more weight (Shizzzzz!)

4. Quit Gym…started intense dancing classes (hip hop to be exact)

5. Quit my amazing Job…Bought only flight tickets to Bali and back…No hotels…Got a freelance job…now teaching Dance in Jakarta…(decided I would just compile everything in this one and make it quick)

It turned out well for me I suppose. Not bad at all! In fact a life changing experience…which you’ll surely figure out as you read through my upcoming posts. Lots of projects in mind and I can’t wait to start it.

#MY10MINS : Take Time

Here’s a hashtag for all of us!

#My10Mins

Today, I sat for about 10 minutes going through what has happened in the last few days of my life and realized some of the most important things that I have forgotten to appreciate.

I thought we all should be taking a 10-minute break in pure self introspection. It helps you to realize that life isn’t just about the 10 meters of your vicinity but the bigger picture (if that isn’t obvious enough! Duh). I guess I’m pretty slow at it. But these are my thoughts today:

1. There’s Always More!

The end of something great, doesn’t mean it’s the end of everything. It’s learning about taking time and space for yourself as well as understanding that time does heal everything.

2. Be thankful for the positive people and influence in your life.

So many times I always thought I’m alone in figuring things out in this world, but the fact is, others do care. This goes to my family and my best friends. I couldn’t be more thankful to have you guys in my life to confide in any given situation.

3. Feel beautiful inside and out.

Keeping that confidence going is a plus in any given negative situation that you may have gone through. It’s so DAMN HARD! I know…trust me I’ve been through it, but you know what, ONLY YOU CAN TAKE CONTROL OF HOW YOU FEEL NO MATTER HOW BAD THINGS GET.

4. Music is my therapy.

It’s true! I have a soundtrack in my head for every situation I’ve been through and I love the fact that it reflects the way I feel in my life. If there is no music, I wouldn’t know what to do.

5. Pray

This is something I’m working on. It’s been tough ever since I moved back home because I’ve never been used to so many rules and being told to pray. But it does keep us all sane (like a good workout, which unfortunately I do not enjoy doing).

6. Aim

Never lose sight of your ambitions. My family, my best friends and even my Xs have taught me that. No matter how hard things get, if you still have ambitions, you will always find your way back. This is what makes you a greater person than you already are!

7. Live.

Live Life to the Fullest! As cheesy as it sounds, it’s the truth. I have never felt so alive when I truly live. Finding yourself over and over again is a challenge but you’ll come to discover things that you never thought that you, yourself would be capable of or would do.

I could only come up with 7 things within that 10 minutes of my personal session. It’s a great feeling to get this out. Remember to hashtag it. I’d love to read up your 10 Minutes. Perhaps, I’ll even be inspired to try your ways of things.

Cheers

ACCORDING TO: Wikipedia about Love-Struck

THE LOVE-STRUCK SYMPTOMS ACCORDING TO WIKIPEDIA

A 2005 article by Frank Tallis suggested that being utterly romantically lovestruck be taken more seriously by professionals.[7]

Being lovestruck only occurs when a person has fallen deeply in love, not when a huge crush emerges. However, that sort of crush might develop into pure, real romantic love. “For love-struck victims, the world appears altered. Replacing the flatness of ordinary experience is a fullness”.[8]

According to Tallis, some of the symptom clusters shared with being lovestruck include:

  • Abnormally elevated mood, inflated self-esteem, extravagant gift giving
  • Tearfulness
  • Loss of concentration and difficulty sleeping
  • Lack of appetite
  • Stress: high blood pressure, pain in chest and heart, acute insomnia; sometimes brought on by a “crush
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder – Preoccupation and hoarding valueless but superstitiously resonant items
  • psychologically created physical symptoms, such as upset stomach, change in appetite, insomnia, dizziness, and confusion.

More substantively, the estimated serotonin levels of people falling in love were observed to drop to levels found in patients with OCD.[9] Brain scan investigations of individuals who professed to be “truly, madly, deeply” in love showed activity in several structures in common with in the neuroanatomy of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), for example the anterior cingulate cortex and caudate nucleus.[10]

Cheers.

Love-struck and sickness

It’s a bucket of bliss, anger, tears, funk, laughter and love! One moment you’re feeling amazing, in-love and happy, then the world turns as those ill-feeling thoughts start to pour out.

What do you call that?

I define it as Love-struck…or in some major cases as Love-sick…as in sickness from love!

Defined asso in love with someone that it is difficult to behave as usual or even think of anything else except the person you love by Cambridge Dictionary .

Hilarious, I know.

THE LOVE STRIKES

It’s unbelievable how many studies have been published in regards to identifying the sickness and symptoms that arises throughout the course of love or falling in love. Interesting enough, it depicts all the correct symptoms that an individual is experiencing whilst they are in these given situations. But how many can say that they have experienced extreme cases of love?

After seeing and going through a number of sessions with my best friends, where I would counsel them on falling in love, maintaining their fast-paced relationship as well as lovesickness, I find myself buried in my own preachings. I realized that I couldn’t take what I preach. It was all a big blur to me but it makes absolutely sense for everybody else.

It’s that feeling where you can’t describe and hoping that you won’t have to because it just feels too painful to discuss.

I think this image below says it all:

Did you know there are a list of symptoms that may indicate a love-struck or lovesickness (in love not after a break-up)?

Here, I share with you signs that shows You’re Lovesick from a very source-full site! Sourced from EverydayHealth.

1. The Love-Struck Bug

During the first few months of arelationship, the chemicals in our brains that get triggered include the neurotransmitters phenethylamine, dopamine, norepinephrine, and oxytocin — dubbed the love hormone, oxytocin is a strong pleasure and satisfaction neurotransmitter that helps two people bond, Dr. Hullett says. But while they can make us feel blissful, they can also result in loss of appetite, inability to concentrate, and difficulty falling asleep. Over time, however, these effects tend to subside, says Hullett.

2. Limerence: An Addiction to Love

For some people, lovesickness goes beyond butterflies: It may also induce physical effects, such as heart palpitations, shortness of breath, stomach pain, loss of sleep, and depression, all which may persist and prevent you from functioning normally. Also known as limerence, this condition is marked by extreme attraction to another, as well as an obsessive need to have feelings returned.

3. Infections Depression – BEWARE!

You know you can catch a cold from your partner, but did you realize you can alsocatch his depression? Though states of mind are not technically contagious, research shows that someone with a blue mood can negatively impact the spirits of those around him.

4. Emotional (my personal source of experience)

You can begin to feel sick, nauseous, ill-feel and gravitating towards sadness and  love depression. There are moments where you can feel so sad, you become tearful because you are happy and there is just no way of explaining it. Contradictory!

5. Frustration (my personal source of experience)

Frustration can begin to kick in because you are unable to identify the feelings that you are experiencing. You can’t seem to find the correct answers to this situation. Speechless and stuck!

Brands and their Pranks

During my spare time, whether it’s at home before bed or during my lunch break at work, I like to browse on interesting topics from recent human studies, latest technologies to most bizarre desserts in the world.

Recently, I’ve become obsessed with creatively awkward and random advertising. After drooling over a number of websites, YouTube videos and blogs, I’ve collected a number of interesting ads that illustrates their products in real-life situations. What I really meant was…Brand Prank-ing! It simply means these brands are advertising publicly by pranking their audience, to get a true feel product’s impact.

For brands to grab the public attention, it no longer applies to just simple print or digital advertising, but revert to physical public displays and demonstrations. I have to say, some are just brilliant…whilst I’m scooping more of the hilarious ads.

Judge for yourself. Laugh.

Coca-cola scores human interaction

I have to give it to Coca-Cola, they will never stop innovating!

If you think about it, they have had the same product, the same font and color identity for years. Yet, they are able to embed this soft-drink into everything and I mean everything! If you think RED, most people would think of Roses, Santa Claus and Coca-Cola.

Coca-Cola have created some of the world’s most innovative and interactive public campaigns worldwide. It never seize to amaze me that they just keep growing. Their campaigns have managed to bring people together and tapping into the most affective kind of  advertising which causes HUMAN INTERACTION. Bravo!

Most companies crave for that kind of public interest and attention. Coca-cola continuously try to portray that they are no longer just  a household name, but as an experience on its own.

Here I put together a few videos Coke’s endless triumphs of interactive campaigns.

Just for your viewing pleasure:
